Wack to the Future

A sane betting person wouldn’t wager much on the prospect that troubles preventing the Large Hadron Collider at CERN from revealing the workings of the universe are caused by…wait for it…saboteurs from the future.

But the notion is being discussed by some prominent physicists, and even made the front page of today’s New York Times. Wacky? Or not wacky enough?

As Niels Bohr, Dr. Nielsen’s late countryman and one of the founders of quantum theory, once told a colleague: “We are all agreed that your theory is crazy. The question that divides us is whether it is crazy enough to have a chance of being correct.”

I never dounderstand time travel. If it is true, why don’t we see tourists from the future all the time? Are we that boring of an era that NOT ONE PERSON IN ALL THE FUTURE finds us interesting?
